John Watson Davis, 72, of Fort Wayne, IN, a former Janesville resident died Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. John was born on August 10, 1939 in Jackson, Missouri, the son of Cecil Lanyard Davis and Geneva Larana (Moore) Davis. He graduated from Janesville High School in 1957. John married Kathryn Jean Miller on May 23, 1978 in Fort Wayne. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Fort Wayne and Masonic Lodge # 55 and Order of Eastern Star Lodge # 69 in Janesville. John was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.
Surviving loved ones are his wife, Kathryn Jean (Miller) Davis, his mother, Geneva Larana (Moore) Davis children, John Watson Davis Jr., Lorelie Edda Davis, Kenneth Allen (Andrea) Hartup, Heather Danee Anderson, Heidi Marie Davis, Joshua David Davis, Jason Jeremiah (Amanda) Davis, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, brother, Cecil Ray (Linda) Davis, and sister, Anita Lorraine (Dick) Markley. He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Lanyard Davis and one son, David Ray Davis.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church in Fort Wayne. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville. Rev. Jerry Amstutz will officiate. Burial will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home. www.henkeclarson.com.
